In an f-ed up housing market, where foreclosures are looming and home are taking forever to sell, sellers are getting creative with buyers incentives. Some offer to cover closing costs, others install a free flat-panel television in the living room. But Deven Trabosh of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida has really upped the anty. Her buyers incentive—herself.
"Marry a Princess Lost in America," read her ads on Craigslist and eBay last week. The ads promised a 2000 square-foot home in a gated community, with tennis courts just down the street. Oh, and a 42-year-old mother of two, with super-blonde hair and a large chest. The price of the house itself: $340,000. The price of the home plus Trabosh as a wife: $500,000. Trabosh has yet to accept an offer. But go figure, all the serious interest has come from Europeans.
Trabosh's scheme has been wildly criticized. EBay removed her ad since the site does not alllow, "the sale of human beings, body parts, or relationships." And Trabosh's 14-year-old daughter said her mom is, "embarrassing." But then again, at that age, she'd say the same thing whether her mom was selling herself for $160,000 or wearing a scrunchie.
Still, Trabosh remains hopeful. "I'm looking for love and I'm looking to sell the house," she told Yahoo News. "I know I'm putting myself out there. I'm sincere, I want to get married again."
Clearly, Deven has not seen The Bachelorette. This plan could only work with a television crew present.
