Martha Tolles is the author of 11 children's books and two dozen short stories and essays. Her books include the popular KATIE/DARCI series (sold 2.3 million copies) and were published by Scholastic. She is a graduate of Smith College, a member of SCBWI and the Authors' Guild. Her husband was a lawyer and they had six wonderful children (only one girl, so her first book was called TOO MANY BOYS, later retitled in paperback KATIE AND THOSE BOYS). She also has 11 wonderful grandchildren and one great-grandson.
